5 Major Web Design Predictions for 2022

The rate of change in the web design field means that what’s hot today will be passé tomorrow, so it’s always good to watch what’s coming. The following are some web design predictions for 2022.

Web Design Predictions

Positivity and Playfulness

There’s been a definite shift in the mood of brands and designers. We’re seeing more light-heartedness and optimism in design, which I think will continue to grow. There’s a changing value system among people: we’re starting to prioritize experiences over things, which is reflected in our design.

I’m not just talking about illustrations or cute gifs (though those are great). I’m talking about the feeling of a site. It feels more like your friend talking to you than a company trying to sell you something. Your brand personality sets you apart from others, so it’s essential to make sure that comes across on your website.

Web Design Predictions 2022 – Herotext

A lot has happened in the past ten years. We’ve had some good and bad times, but the web design industry has always endured. Looking back at the last few years, we can see that certain factors have had a huge influence on our profession, and if they continue to evolve as they have done so far, we can expect some exciting changes to come our way.

The Blockchain is Coming

The web has always been a place for sharing information, and the advent of social media has made it easier than ever before for people to find like-minded communities. That’s great, but sharing is still a one-way process: when sharing something with you, I give up control of it forever. There’s no way for me to take it back if you decide to share it with someone else without my permission.

But this could all change with blockchain technology — the same technology behind cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Cardano — which allows us to create shared ledgers of information that can’t be changed or censored once they’re published.

Everything Green

It’s 2022, and your website should be greener than Kermit. It should be more eco-friendly than a treehouse built with recycled paper. That’s right; you need to make your website sustainable – because the planet is dying, and it’s our fault. We’ve already seen developers create websites powered by renewable energy, but we’re going to see more sites using alternative sources of power to keep them running. You’ll probably start seeing more sites supported by solar panels or wind turbines, or even both. Heck, maybe your site will be powered by your bodyweight! Why not generate power using your sweat if you’re serious about saving the environment?

Web Design Predictions 2022 – Bring the Noise

I’m sure you’ve heard of a little something called “the sound barrier.” The invisible wall separates us from our dreams and aspirations of becoming fighter pilots. Or, as I like to call it, the wall keeps me from being able to maximum-thrust my body past the speed of sound.

But what about websites and apps? What about their sound barrier? Well, fortunately for you, I have good news! That sound barrier is gone, baby gone. And by that, I mean it has been ripped down like an old, decrepit Hollywood sign by innovative companies such as Sonic Notify, which specialize in broadcasting sounds up to 150 feet away. They do this so people can receive alerts and information on their phones, but we all know where this is going.

Websites will soon be able to broadcast sounds at a frequency that only dogs can hear — while simultaneously ensuring that humans can still read the text as if everything were normal.
